Description
Small modules for big things - Low energy consumption, huge possibilities
What is it?
Lora communication has been developed for IoT devices where the expectation of extremely long -term autonomous, external power sources is expected. Radio communication is done in the 867-868MHz frequency band, typically in an extremely narrow 125kHz spectrum, so-called "chirp" (FM) modulation, at speeds of 300bps to 11kbps, depending on the quality of the radio environment. Thanks to the robust and less sensitive signal transmission, it is very small, with only 14dbm (~ 25MW) power to the long distances. The system is also capable of continuously optimizing the transmission speed, which is called adaptive datarate (ADR). Classic star architecture. Sensor radio communication is transmitted by so-called gateways to the Core Network (NMS) IP network.
Fields of use
What are Lorawan technology, which are the most fitting applications? Like all technical solutions, Lora has its own story. They were created for a specific purpose - they were looking for a communication solution that can implement it effective in infrastructural areas, mostly between machinery (M2M), and for years to work reliably without any additional power supply (wired power, solar panels, etc.). Later, developers discovered how much information can fit in the few times in ten - hundred bytes that the Lorawan network can transfer in a message. There is no need to build and maintain the communication channel, so it is very effective to transmit information. So Lorawan was created for the classic, very low -energy remote sensing.
Application examples
Typical application examples are monitoring of public utility consumption and later analysis of consumer characteristics, construction of smart home, building supervisory and property protection solutions, or providing agricultural production information (weather tracking, irrigation regulation, measurement of the characteristics of the plant and/or animal environment). These data can also highlight problems that are normally hidden in the user. For example, the current, actual condition of a machine/component; Maintenance demand signaling and planning; detection of drains, leaks, outstanding consumption sites; optimization of resource use; Detection of utility thefts.#smart measurement, #tracking and asset supervision, #property protection, #general remote monitoring, #industrial applications, #agriculture
Professional use - but safe?
All communications are encrypted according to AES128, and sensors can register in two ways. In the first case, all data of the sensor must be manually recorded on the Loriot NMS server (Add by Personalization, ABP). These data are the sensor's unique identifier (Deveui, 16 hexa digits, ie 8 bytes), the device address (Devaddr, 4 byte, hexa), Network Session Key (NWSKEY, 16 Byte, Hexa) and finally Application Session Key ( Appskey, 16 bytes, hexa). Above all, you can specify another 16-byte key (Appkey, AppKey) to encrypt the sensor values, also known as Payload. In this case, even the Antenna Hungária does not access the contents of the message. Another way is Over the Air Activation (OTAA), where Loriot NMS, 8tered Deveui, a 8-byte Application EUI (Appeui) and a 16tered Application Key (Appkey) are waiting for only three parameters . The NWSKEY and Appskey keys are defined by an algorithm by the Lorio itself and the sensor together, so the OTAA device upgrade provides even more security because you do not need to administered these keys during production, which may then leak.
Applying for developer access
Antenna Hungária Zrt. Provides an opportunity for the Lorawan network to test businesses under the test program. The aim of the program is to get businesses to become more familiar with the services provided by the Lorawan network and to test their own developments. The program is expected to apply for all businesses who are developing hardware or software based on Lora technology. In the program, you can request a maximum of one account to register, which is entitled to connect and use 10 sensors free of charge. Be sure to read the terms of use before sending your registration.
Unique node, according to your own needs
